Nigerian dwarfs!
We chose to go with Nigerian Dwarfs as they are docile and good milk producers. Though we do not plan on milking them, a lot of people seeking out goats do so for the milk. We did not go with Registered at this time as we want to find out if it is something we will be interested in continuing long term. If we decide goats are for us, then we will add some registered bucks and does to our herd.

Meet All the Cuties!
Moonshine
Moonshine is our resident buck. He is small but mighty! He is smaller than all of our does and we find that important so he does not injure them accidentally. Moonshine is a sweet little dude and we are happy to have him here to serve our ladies!
Mila
Mila is our first doe; we got her from Fresh Start Farm here in Gloucester. Jeff is a wonderful farmer to work with and always answers our never ending questions! Mila had a kid back in February and should be getting close to ready to get pregnant again. We are excited at the possibilities with the blend of Moonshine's White/black coloring to mix with her multi shades of brown!
snickers
Snickers is a couple years old and has had 2 sets of kids already. We got her from a farm that is about 1 hour away. Her previous owners believe that she is already bred back. The sire is either Moonshine or one other buck they had in the same field as her. She will produce the first kid(s) for our Farmette!
daisy
Daisy is a beautiful white/black doe and is small like Moonshine! I don't foresee many alternate color combinations coming from those two, but you never know!
buckwheat
Buckwheat is a whether and will serve as a companion goat for Moonshine. Before the goats kid, it is important to remove the buck from their space as they can be aggressive towards the kids. Goats are herd animals and do not like to be alone which is why we chose to bring Buckwheat onto the Farmette.
