Coturnix Quail
Coturnix quail take 3 weeks to be fully feathered and start laying eggs as early as 6 weeks! That's less than half the time it takes chickens to start laying! These quail are expected to lay 150-250 eggs a year. All of our quail carry the celadon gene and lay blue eggs. We have never had a non-blue egg!
Our quail reside in an aviary, oppose to cages. We choose this type of housing in order to give them the best, most natural life possible. We want our quail to be able to be on the ground and have benefits of grass, bugs, and dirt. We also do not provide artificial light through the fall and winter. This means that we do not have quail eggs available for several months of the year.
We hatch our quail in the spring and early summer and offer up. Let us know if you are interested in getting started with quail, we are here to help!
