coturnix quail

Just another day in agricultural paradise.

Coturnix Quail

We acquired 20 CELADON coturnix quail as two day old chicks! Coturnix quail take 3 weeks to be fully feathered and start laying eggs as early as 6 weeks! That's less than half the time it takes chickens to start laying! 2 of our quail are also WHITE. These quail are expected to lay 150-250 eggs a year. As of right now we do not know how many male/female we have, but I am sure we will have plenty of eggs (shortly) to eat, pickle, and hatch! These particular quail were hatched from celadon (blue) eggs and hopefully received genes from both parents to continue to lay celadon eggs!

2023 will be our second year with quail and we have doubled our stock! Stay tuned on our blog page for updates!
