African Geese
African Geese! We chose to go with African Geese because they are great for multiple reasons: Meat, Eggs, and Guardians! A very versatile breed of geese that will be able to keep providing more geese for our family. These are the only animals (so far) that we have had to order via mail (Hoover's Hatchery). HH is the same supplier that Tractor Supply uses so I was confident that they would get us quality (living) goslings in the mail. We were 9/10.
African geese can be aggressive (guardians) but as long as they are hand cared for they don't typically pick up a bad temperament. Rules work the same as a rooster; There are too many nice geese out there to kept a mean one around!
Our two geese that we have kept for ourselves are Lucy and Ricky. They hang out with the ducks as their protectors. Lucy loves to be pet!
